Day 1 : Paro Airport – Thimphu ( 65 km / 2 hrs )
At Bhutan Airport, there is a meet-and-greet service before a journey to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city (7,710 feet). Check in at the hotel after arrival. Wander about Thimpu in the evening. Stay the night in Thimphu.
Day 2 : Thimphu Sightseeing
Visit Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Statue), a location for refreshment with a sizable Buddha statue on top, the National Memorial Chorten (Monument), and the Folk Heritage Museum after breakfast. Visit Sangaygang View Point, Changangkha Monastery, Taking Preserve Centre, and Tashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion), where you may observe the talking national animal of Bhutan. Stay the night in Thimphu.
Day 3 : Thimphu – Punakha/Wangdue Sightseeing (77 km / 3 hrs)
Take a trip to Punakha or Wangdue after breakfast. Stop at Dochu-La-Pass (3150 metres) along the journey to see the higher Himalayas. Once in Punakha, check into your accommodation. Visit the Punakha Dzong, which Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal constructed in 1637, around midday. It functioned as the government’s seat for many years up until the reign of the second monarch. Druk Pungthang Dechen Phodrang (Palace of Great Happiness) is the name of the Dzong. Je-Khenpo still spends his winters in Punakha, where King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck also held the inaugural meeting of the National Assembly in 1952. After that, go on a little side journey to Chhimi Lhakhang, also known as “The Temple of Fertility,” which was created by Lama Drukpa Kuenley, also known as “The Divine MadMan.” Free time to enjoy the evening. Punakha or Wangdue will be the place you spend the night.
Day 4 : Punakha/Wangdue – Paro (140 km / 5 hrs)
Take a trip to Paro (7,483 feet) after breakfast.
Stop in Lamperi along the journey to see the Royal Botanical Park, which is home to a vast array of species of plants and animals, including some that are endangered. Check in at the hotel after arrival. Free time to enjoy the evening. Stay the night in Paro.
Day 5 : Full Day Paro Sightseeing
Pay a visit to Drukgyel Dzong after breakfast. Visit Kichu Monastery as well as the well-known Paro Taktsang Monastery, also known as “Tiger’s Nest” and located 2 hours from the base camp. Paro will be explored for a night.
Day 6 : Paro Airport (Return Journey)
