This afternoon, we go to the most top-secret remnant of the Khmer Rouge dictatorship, Tuol Sleng Prison, now a Genocide Museum. It is also known as S-21 (short for Security Office 21), the top security camp operated by the Khmer Rouge and created especially for the detention and execution of anti-Angkorian elements. We leave the reminders of Cambodia’s troubled past and head to the Russian market to shop. We transfer to the airport or bus terminal this afternoon in preparation for our speedy bus or flight to Siem Reap. After arriving in Siem Reap, a representative from our company will pick you up at the airport or bus terminal and take you to your accommodation. Spend the night at the Siem Reap hotel. 

This morning, we visited the South Gate of Angkor Thom, also known as Big Angkor, which was the last capital of the Angkor Empire. The famed Bayon Temple was a mess of an architectural design because it was built over a century ago in a rather fragmented manner. In front of Baphuon, a massive temple mountain in the center of Angkor Thom, the Royal Palace Area, and Phimeanakas, an impressive rite and sandstone pyramid, is the Terrace of the Elephants, an impressive two and a half meter tall, 300 metre long terrace wall.The Terrace of the Leper King, a double terrace wall with intricately carved nagas, devils, and other legendary entities, is located at the northern end of the Terrace of the Elephants. The ancient temple of Angkor Wat in Cambodia is one of the marvels of the eastern world, and we visited it this afternoon. Its magnificent remains, which are masterpieces of architectural style and ornamental embellishments, stand as a witness to the amazing accomplishments of Southeast Asia’s finest civilisation. Hindu mythology claims that it is a copy of the universe.It is made up of Mount Meru, which is encircled by continents and oceans. Its remarkable bas-reliefs depict several stories and epics from Khmer culture. The five well-known towers of Angkor Wat climb into the sky in a geometrical layout of various galleries that are embellished with religious symbols, stone statues of heavenly Apsara dancers, entrances, rooms, and courtyards. Today, after breakfast, I traveled to Ta Prohm Temple, an amazing synthesis of human ingenuity and untouched beauty. Here, enormous trees have existed for generations! Rather than having a ruler, noblemen built Prasat Kravan at first. Sandstone was used to construct Banteay Kdei, although it has suffered greatly. There are still some stunning lintels and pediments, though. The King bathed daily with his several concubines at the royal pond known as Srah Srang. Takeo, built by King Suryavarman, is a five-level pyramid that is dedicated to Shiva. Built at the same time as Angkor Wat is the modest, lovely temple known as Thommanon, which is in excellent shape. In the second half of the 12th century, Chau Say Tevoda was constructed across from Thommanon and was dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu. We go by land this afternoon to see the Grand Circuit’s highlights, which include: The temple Preah Khan, which translates to “The Sacred Sword” and was also constructed by Jayawarman VII, is renowned for its very lengthy cruciform hallways and beautiful decorations. Neak Pean is a beautifully detailed example of Khmer art.This temple, which was built by Jayavarman VII, is the ideal illustration of the heavens on earth. Ta Som was a modest monastery structure in the traditional Bayon form, consisting of a reasonably level enclosure. Rajendravarman built East Mebon in the tenth century. This temple was located on a little island in the Oriental, or Eastern Baray. Pre Rup, where I most recently enjoyed the sunset, was erected in the 10th century by Rajendravarman. We go to Wat Thmei (Killing Field) this morning. It has a stupa with unusual glass walls that houses the remains of Khmer Rouge victims. The remains of soldiers who perished close in a battlefield can be found among the bones, some of which were found in a well nearby. Visit the finest and most genuine Khmer arts and crafts at “Les Artisans d’Angkor – Chantiers École” in the future. Lunch at a neighborhood eatery. We traveled to the south of Siem Reap Floating Villages this afternoon.Ride a traditional wooden boat on the Tonle Sap, Cambodia’s “Great Lake” and the biggest lake in Asia. Numerous illustrations of the Khmer way of life on the Tonle Sap may be found here. Visit Wat Bo next; this revered pagoda, which was built in the 18th century, is home to some incredibly rare wall paintings of the Reamker (Ramayana), which are thought to date from the late 19th century. We continue to Psar Chars, popularly known as the “Old Market,” one of the bustling outdoor marketplaces in the city. Spend the night at the Siem Reap hotel.
