Day 1 : Arrival in Gangtok
When you arrive at Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station, meet our tour agent who will help you check into one of the hotels on our list in Gangtok, a city blessed with lush woods, alpine sceneries, rivers, and lakes. It is breathtaking to see Mt. Kanchenjunga coated with snow here.
Once there, register at the hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to do as you like. Go outside to visit the major tourist sites or relax in the comfort of your accommodation. Enjoy a night’s stay at the hotel to round things off.
Day 2 : Gangtok - Tsomgo Lake
After a delicious breakfast, get ready to leave for a trip to Tsomgo Lake. At a height of 3753 meters, this oval-shaped lake is home to the Brahminy ducks and other migratory species. Although the lake is mostly always covered in snow, it gets its water in the summer when the snow on the mountains melts. Locals place a high value on religion at Tsomgo Lake. If you’d like, you may take yak and mules for a ride along the lake.
Go back to the hotel and take a nap. Because Gangtok is known for selling locally manufactured artifacts and handicrafts, you may go shopping there. Hotel stays for the night.
Day 3 : Gangtok - Kalimpong
Your schedule for Gangtok’s third day includes a local touring part. Visit the Directorate of Handicrafts Handloom Emporium, which features locally made goods, after breakfast. The emporium, which has a sizable collection of Tibetan carpets, traditional designs, and other handicrafts, aspires to spread and preserve the creations of regional artists.
You may learn more about the local culture by going to the Research Institute of Tibetology. Then proceed to Do Drul Chorten, a majestic stupa that is greatly revered by Buddhists. Visit the 1909-era Enchey Monastery next, which features a number of paintings, fortunate Buddhist symbols, and a wheel of law. Visit the White Hall and Flower Exhibition Centre as well.
Transfer to Kalimpong, which is renowned for its Buddhist temples, churches, and Tibetan handicrafts, once you’ve finished exploring Gangtok. Register at the hotel, then check out for the day.
Day 4 : Kalimpong - Darjeeling
Enjoy breakfast before leaving for Kalimpong sightseeing on day 4 of your Darjeeling Kalimpong Gangtok itinerary. Drive to Deolo Hill, one of the two hills that the town is situated between, first. The hill, considered to be Kalimpong’s highest point, provides breathtaking views.
Visit Hanuman Mandir later. A massive 30-foot statue of Lord Hanuman that stares over the town is positioned atop the structure. After that, head towards Dr. Graham’s Homes. It was created as a school for underprivileged youngsters and the offspring of tea workers. Visit Mangal Dham, a Hindu shrine to Krishna, Durbin Monastery, and Pine View Nursery for an unusual array of cacti thereafter.
Transfer to Darjeeling after the tour of Kalimpong. In addition to tea plantations, lakes, monasteries, museums, and other attractions, this hill town is home to the renowned Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a World Heritage Train. Register at the hotel and relax. Enjoy a leisurely evening before a restful night’s sleep.
